The Little Warriors Camp is but one of the many ways we support military families in San Antonio. Little Warriors began in 2013 thanks to the generosity of the Boeing Employees Community Fund. Now in its third year, Little Warriors has served over 190 kids with its 140-hour prevention education curriculum. They learned about self-esteem, assertiveness, and how to make good decisions while enjoying activities like drama, hip-hop dance, and a field trip to the zoo. It’s not all fun and games, though — the campers also received FREE school supplies!
It was great. I’m a homeschool mom, so leaving my kids in other people’s care is something I don’t do often — especially for hours on end. The kids loved it and I loved seeing my mildly autistic son actually try to dance to the music at the end of the week. He normally hates music, so that was great.”Little Warrior Parent
The Little Warriors Camp helps to build leadership and teamwork skills by providing age-appropriate activities for kids with shared similar experiences. The Project Heart curriculum provides a fun, educational program for kids of military families to learn valuable coping skills, develop a stronger sense of self-confidence, and build a support network with other children. The camp helps to reinforce relationships and strengthen the family core.
He loved it. He wished it was more than a week long…”Little Warrior Parent
We learned so much from all the kids involved in the camp; they inspired and motivated us to stay passionate about the work that we do because of the difference it makes in in so many of their lives.
They really enjoy themselves and were always looking forward to going each morning!”Little Warrior Parent
Thank you to the San Antonio Boeing Employee Community Fund!
Everything was organized, safe and fun. They loved it! Hoping to be back next year.”Little Warrior Parent
We would also like to recognize First Grace Baptist Church for partnering with us and hosting the Little Warriors Camp at their campus for the 2nd Year. The pastor and staff at First Grace Baptist Church have helped us in recruitment of the camp as well as using their facility. We look forward to a continued partnership with them for future activities and camps.
