Project Heart

Project Heart is a unique program for 9-12 year old children, their parents and teachers. Project Heart enhances the resiliency of over 2,500 children each year, providing them with experiences that nurture internal developmental assets and help them to develop a positive sense of self worth, belonging and power. The program's original curriculum, "From the Heart," is facilitated by the Council's Prevention Specialists in schools and community sites throughout Bexar County. Project Heart is a model curriculum-based support group program that was expanded to schools in the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas and named a Promising Strategy for Reducing School Violence by the United States Attorney General.
