Creating change through collaboration to educate and motivate community stakeholders with the goals of preventing and reducing alcohol and substance abuse.

Who We Are

The Circles of San Antonio Community Coalition (COSA) was created in 1998 by a group of caring individuals and agencies. The Coalition strives to lower incidences of underage and binge drinking, drug use and abuse and promotes a message of responsibility among adults.

You Are the Essential Piece!

You can make a difference. Everyone in the community has a unique role in achieving our shared goals, which makes everyone an essential piece of the solution. Every sector and member of the community is affected by alcohol and drug-related challenges and consequences. Each of us has the opportunity to combat the problem. We Need You!

Substance abuse in San Antonio is a problem and its effects are staggering. Compared to other large cities in the nation, San Antonio ranks as having one of the highest rates of binge drinking, alcohol-related motor vehicle fatalities and other consequences of substance abuse. These issues affect all parts of the community from families, to business owners, school performance, lost wages and the economy. The list goes on and on. This community-wide challenges requires a community-wide buy in. Joining the Circles of San Antonio Community Coalition gives you a unique opportunity to have your voice heard on these issues and begin to make significant change. We are looking for “champions” in our community like you. Those who share our vision, are passionate about these issues, and are ready to move to action.
